Quilt for an Hour

If you want to see some of the completed tops made from the first quilt in an hour project, you can find them on my webshots page. If you have completed your top and want it included on the webshots page, send me a picture. When you go to my webshots page, you can either click on "newest" or find the Quilt for an Hour album. As of today, there are 7 quilts pictured. Thanks to all of you for sending your pictures!

About the blog fiasco, there are about half of the blogs I try to leave comments on and I can't. It has something to do with the problems I'm experiencing with blogger. While it doesn't make me feel any better, there are many others having the same problem. So, if I'm not leaving comments on your blog, it's because I can't. I did get an e-mail Friday from "blogger employee" (probably their only employee) who said my blog problems will be fixed soon. I'm afraid we have very different ideas of what "soon" may mean.

Some of you want to do another Quilt for an Hour project, huh? Here's what I'm thinking: I'll start a new project on the first of each month, beginning October 1. It's too soon after the last one to start another one on September 1. Don't want to over work anyone or use the stash too quickly! :)

As long as I have a good number of participants, I'll continue. What this really means is . . send me pictures of your tops once they're done so I'll know you're really working with me on these.

Were you surpised at how much you could get done just by sewing for one hour each day?

Yes! I was thrilled with how much I accomplish each day just by "making" myself sew for an hour. I'm also getting better at judging my ability to accomplish things. No quilts in a day for me, but maybe a week? ;)

I'm so glad you started this Judy, it's really given a lot of quilters the kick they needed. And with fall around the corner for plenty of people, this is a great note to start on our cool-weather quilting.

I liked making myself sit down and take an hour to sew or do something artsy. Although I haven't worked on my hour a day project in a little bit, one because I have other projects going on and two because of all the stuff going on with the car, the apartment and the job

I didn't get to join in on this quilt; but I'm still thinking about it. I'd like to try the October one if I can get through my September To Do List.

I'll probably be in for the next go round. I'm going to take a break from piecing once I finish the two quilts I have going and I'll be doing some quilting. By October 1st I'll be ready for a new project!

Thanks for doing this for all of us!
Carolyn

Great idea, Judy! I know I won't be able to do them all, because of traveling, but I'll join when I can.

I hope blogger's soon becomes your soon . . . soon. =)

You have done an excellent job of "rallying the troops" on this hour a day project! Congratulations on inspiring so many quilters to make so many beautiful tops!

I am making mine a little larger and got a late start so it is not done yet. But you motivated me to get busy so, please, please do another.

Many thanks.

sorry you are still having problems with blogger--such a nuisance! I had to take a week's break from my hour a day project--but I started back again today. So I'll post mine as soon as I'm done. I'd do another one--there's nothing like a deadline to inspire one to keep at it!

I hope your blogger problems are solved soon. You know, because you are getting a little famous (the magazine article and future book) maybe you would want to consider getting your own domain and have web designer set up a blog on there for you. You could have your blog on there, feature your quilt pictures all in one place. Just a thought Judy...

I am still sitting with all of my hst's cut out. My intentions were to work on it Labor Day weekend. Though I started another project in my home and I may have bit off more than I could chew. We pulled out our kitchen carpet. There is wood floors underneath, but we have to scrape layers of linoleum and glue to get to it. If you get a chance, I have a house blog now http://deputyswifebighouse.blogspot.com/

Stop by and see our mess, LOL!

I can't even get to some people's comments pages. I'm getting the "Page not Available" error. Go figure. So it's not just you, Judy.

I have a question about the squares surrounding the central block. I'm probably just braindead but are they 2" finished or 2" to be finished at 1 1/2"?

I will try my hardest to do an hour a day quilt each month. It's given me back my spark in a way.

I really enjoyed the Hour A Day quilt challenge. I just have to finish adding the border and the top is then done.

I'll have to make sure i don't plan too many quilty projects for October so that i can participate in the next Challenge. Thanks Judy for doing this.
